Джаз фьюжн

Джаз-фьюжн (также джаз-рок, джаз-рок-фьюжн или фьюжн; англ. fusion «сплав») — музыкальный стиль, соединяющий в себе элементы джаза и музыки других стилей.

Фьюжн-музыка обычно инструментальна, часто со сложными тактовыми размерами, метром, ритмом и удлинёнными композициями, содержащими импровизации. Многие выдающиеся фьюжн-музыканты узнаваемы по высокому уровню техники, сочетающемуся со сложными композициями и музыкальными импровизациями в метрах, редко встречающихся в других западных музыкальных формах.

В конце 60-х — начале 70-х гг. джаз-рок развивался параллельно с другим «усложнённым» направлением рок-музыки — прогрессивным роком (прог-рок). Степень музыкальной экспрессии и множество исполнительских приемов были взяты из рок-музыки. За счет смешения исполнительских приёмов рока и экспрессии, экспериментальности джаза, группам удалось добиться расширения спектра передаваемых ощущений.

Джаз-фьюжн (также известный как джаз-рок, джаз-рок-фьюжн или просто фьюжн) — популярный музыкальный жанр, который развился в конце 1960-х годов, когда музыканты объединили джазовую гармонию и импровизацию с рок-музыкой, фанком и ритм-энд-блюзом. Электрогитары и бас-гитары, усилители и клавишные инструменты (включая электропианино и органы), которые были популярны в роке, начали использоваться джазовыми музыкантами, особенно теми, кто вырос, слушая рок-н-ролл. Аранжировки джаз-фьюжн различаются по сложности. Некоторые используют структуры на основе грува, привязанные к одной тональности или одному аккорду с простой, повторяющейся мелодией.  Другие используют сложные аккордовые последовательности, нетрадиционные размеры или мелодии с контра-мелодиями, подобно прогрессивному року. Как и в джазе, джаз-фьюжн может использовать медные и деревянные духовые инструменты, такие как труба и саксофон, но другие инструменты часто их заменяют. Группа джаз-фьюжн реже использует акустическое фортепиано и контрабас, а чаще — электрогитары, электропианино, органы, синтезаторы и бас-гитару.
